NOTE:This was really bad news before Wetherspoons took it over in the 80's; it had been the scene of an Irish gangland execution but under Wetherspoons it is really delightful. Great food and even greater beer that changes regularly. I live in Milan but If I'm in London I'll always take my Italian friends here. They always love it. Some snobs have a downer on Wetherspoon pubs but ones like this are difficult to beat and you know what? We owe J.D a debt in trying to bring back the pub (as in capital P) to the public.
